In Year 12 you will learn how businesses are formed and the different types of ownership structures. Students will gain an understanding of the four functional areas of businesses – marketing, operations, human resources and finance.

In Year 13 you will learn about strategic decision making for businesses and how they react to external influences such as the economy, legalisation, politics, competition and environmental pressures.

The course takes a holistic approach to the subject using different business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary businesses issues and situations. The course is designed to engage students in relevant and up to date business examples.

Assessment

100% Examinations. 3 x 2 hour papers

Requirements

Grade 5 or above in GCSE Business Studies if taken. Grade 5 or above in GCSE English Language and Maths.
